Von KI bis Silberdraht und Alabaster: Drei außergewöhnliche Arbeiten junger Schmuckschaffender standen im Rahmen unserer Mitgliederversammlung zur Abstimmung. Die Wahl fiel nicht leicht und die Entscheidung war knapp, aber nun freuen wir uns, Bianca Triinu Toots zur Auszeichnung »Junge Schmuckkunst im Museum« zu gratulieren: herzlichen Glückwunsch! Ihr Ohrschmuck »In Search of Inaudible Sounds« wird von uns als Förderverein angekauft und dem Schmuckmuseum Pforzheim geschenkt. Mit dem jährlichen Ankauf erweitern wir die moderne Sammlung des Museums.
Bianca Triinu Toots, geboren 2000, schloss vergangenes Jahr ihr Studium an der Estonian Academy of Arts ab. Über ihre Arbeit sagt die Künstlerin: »Sound – no matter how strong or how gentle – is always weightless. Aural waves ripple against our eardrums, and we become part of the surrounding acoustic horizon. Hearing extends beyond the ears, through the body, carrying a plethora of memories and emotions. When we listen, we make contact with the outside world but also with ourselves – hearing our own heartbeat or our inner voice. Our imagination reveals the hidden magic within sounds. Pressing our ear against a seashell, there is the murmur of the sea or the whispers of the wind. Then what could silver earrings capture and what hidden or unexpected sounds could be revealed?«
