Auch in diesem Jahr öffnet die Ausstellung und Messe für alle Kultur- und Schmuckinteressierten wieder am ersten Juli-Wochenende ihre Türen. Als Förderverein ISSP präsentieren wir an einem eigenen Stand herausragende Schmuckkunst und exzellente Schmuckschaffende, die wir im vergangenen Jahr für die Auszeichnung »Junge Schmuckkunst im Museum« nominiert haben. 2026 ist die Wahl auf einen Ring von Chidimma Omeke gefallen und wir freuen uns, Ihnen gemeinsam mit dem Künstler eine Auswahl seiner aktuellen Arbeiten zu zeigen.
Chidimma Omeke studierte am Campus Idar-Oberstein der Hochschule Trier den Masterstudiengang »Edelstein und Schmuck« und sagt über seine Arbeit: »Amongst the traditional Igbo tribe of Eastern Nigeria, Ofor is a symbol of truth, justice, law and authority. It is often carved in wood into a handheld object for Chiefs and elders of the community. In other words, Ofor is the materialization of the reality and essence of truth. Truth in this context is a summation of all indices that moral integrity stems from. It also means light and structure.«
